Chris Plunkett
Christopher Plunkett is a native of Newark, New Jersey where he grew up surrounded by Hip Hop influences. His natural ability to absorb movement, and enjoy the world of dance made it natural for him to gravitate towards icons, and legends like Michael Jackson. He taught himself how to dance by watching these legends, and entertainers, and soon became quite good at pop locking, and other styles of street dance. He continued to groom himself as a dancer as a student at an all boys’ prep school, St. Benedicts Prep. He soon stepped out on faith, and danced at a senior talent show hosted by then host of BETs’ 106 and Park, AJ Calloway.
Chris went on to St. Vincent’s College where he took advantage of the opportunity to study modern dance, and other forms of formal dance. He also took advantage of the many opportunities to teach, and choreograph with competition dance teams like “SHUDA”. Upon graduating with a BA degree in Theater Arts, Chris made a bold move to Atlanta, Georgia where his dance life soared to new levels. He found a new dance home at Gotta Dance Atlanta where he joined the work-study program, and deepened his understanding of choreography as a part of EMERGING: A New Choreographers Workshop.
Chris has recently begun a film, and television career making appearances in the HBO film “Bessie”, televisions “The Walking Dead” and “Complications”, and the soon to be released major motion picture “King Bolden”. He also worked with Missy Elliot on her artist, Sharaya J's music video, which was choreographed by Tricia Miranda.
Most recently he has been signed to XCEL Talent Agency by Aris Golemi, and was invited by Daryl L. Foster to join the first group of men for his company, LIFT.
